Riverside Retreat House Manual

We are happy to welcome you to our home! Elkins is a great place to live or visit, and we are delighted to share it with you. Whether you are spending time with friends or family, or working away from home, we hope your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.

This manual includes check-in information, amenities, area recommendations, and more. We strive to offer a 5-star experience to our guests. If anything is not up to your standards, please let us know as soon as possible so we can address and fix the issues.

Check-In

Check-in is available any time after 4 pm.

When arriving at 72/76 Faulkner Rd, you will see an Old Route 33 campground to your left and a bridge in front of you. Turn right onto Faulkner Road before the bridge. Continue past the gravel driveway and you will see a brown building to your right. Directly in front of you is the lodge (marked with the number 90 on the top left, an American flag, and a covered entrance). The property to the right of the lodge is where you are staying.

Unit 1 is accessed through the door on the porch on the far right, marked with a sign that says "Riverside De Luxe."

Unit 2 is accessed by going up the stairs to the left side of the building onto the deck where the hot tub is, and entering through the door labeled #2.

Park your vehicle on the opposite side of the road, leaving room for others as much as possible.

Electronic Door Lock

The property uses a Schlage Encode deadbolt wifi lock. You will not need keys during your stay.

To unlock the door:

  1. Press the home button on the bottom left of the screen to light up the keypad
  2. Type the code we provided you
  3. The door will automatically unlock

If you see a red X when typing the code, a wrong number was likely pressed. Try again and it will usually work. If the issue persists, contact us for assistance.

Please note: The electronic lock locks automatically after 4 minutes. If you see a lockbox, please ignore it and use the keypad on the front door.

House Rules

Being mindful of our house rules is appreciated and expected. We hope you love our space and will help us take care of it.

  • No house parties
  • Strict no smoking or vaping indoors policy. You may smoke or vape outside. Smoke remediation fees start at $1,000
  • Please clean up excessive messes; we'll take care of the rest
  • Music should be played at a reasonable level. Quiet time is between 10 PM and 8 AM

Check-Out

  1. Leave used towels on the floors and leave used beds unmade
  2. Place TV remote back on the TV stand and log out of any streaming services that are yours
  3. Do a final walkthrough to check for personal belongings
  4. Close any windows, turn off lights, lock the back patio door, and lock the front door by hitting the button on the bottom of the e-lock
  5. Pick up any pet remains in the yard. Failure to do this will result in an $80 fee to have us do it for you

Amenities

  • Sleeping: The suite includes 2 king-sized beds and a fold-out couch in the de luxe side of the property.
  • Hot Tub: To access the hot tub, use code 8088 on the lock. Please put the lock back on when you are done to keep it private to you.
  • Coffee: We have a Keurig-style coffee maker for your use, which comes with a custom filter pod that you can fill with your preferred coffee flavor. We also provide generic creamer and sugar, but feel free to bring specific flavors if you prefer.
  • WiFi: Network: RiverFront Password: 5StarReview
  • TV: A TV is available in the room.
  • Parking: Free street parking is available on the opposite side of the road. You shouldn't have any issues finding a spot.
  • Garbage: A dumpster is available on the other side of the road by the parking lot for your use during your stay.

Laundry

We do not have a washing machine or dryer available for guests. For stays longer than 4 nights, feel free to request replacement towels and linens, and we will do our best to accommodate.

Mary's Maytag laundromat is located in town at 159 Country Club Rd, Elkins, WV 26241 if you need to wash clothes.

Housekeeping

Since we are a small lodge, we do not have the capacity to offer complimentary mid-stay housekeeping. However, you have the option to purchase mid-stay cleans from our housekeeping crew. Reach out to us directly if you would like someone to come in and clean the room and wash linens and towels at any point during your stay.

Mail and Packages

We do not recommend having deliveries sent to the property, as we cannot guarantee the safe and timely delivery of packages since we are unable to monitor the property at all times.

For a more secure option, we recommend utilizing the local post office for any deliveries using their general delivery option. They are equipped to receive and store packages until your convenient pickup. Please provide clear instructions to the delivery personnel if you choose this option.

Please be aware that packages or mail delivered outside your reservation dates likely will not reach you.

Items Left Behind

If you leave personal items behind at the property, we are happy to assist in their retrieval and shipment to you. Please be advised that there will be a shipping cost and our time involved that will need to be paid before we can ship the items.

We understand that accidents happen, and we are here to help make the process as smooth as possible.
