We are happy to welcome you to our home! Elkins is a great place to live or visit, and we are delighted to share it with you. Whether you are spending time with friends or family, or working away from home, we hope your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.
This manual includes check-in information, amenities, local recommendations, and answers to common questions. We strive to offer a 5-star experience to our guests. If anything is not up to your standards, please let us know as soon as possible so we can address and fix the issues.

Directions
Check-in is available any time after 4 pm.
When arriving at 224 Faulkner Rd, you will see on Old Route 33 a campground to your left and a bridge in front of you. Turn right onto Faulkner Road before the bridge. After turning right, there is a gravel driveway—continue past this driveway. You will see a brown building to your right and another in front of you. Continue past both buildings and you will come to another gravel driveway on the right side with wooden fences on both sides. Turn up this driveway and continue until you reach the home.
Park your vehicle near the bottom of the steps and head up to the front door. The house has an electronic Schlage lock, so you do not need keys during your stay. Enter the door code we sent you and the door will open.
Important Notes
- The electronic lock locks automatically after 4 minutes.
- Please ensure music is played at a reasonable level. Our quiet time is between 10 PM and 8 AM.
Door Lock Instructions

The door lock is a Schlage Encode deadbolt with wifi capability. You will not use any lockboxes or keys during your stay. If you see a lockbox, please ignore it and use the keypad on the front door.
To unlock the door:
- Press the home button on the bottom left of the screen to light up the keypad.
- Type the code we provided you.
- The door will automatically unlock.
If you get a red X when typing the code, a wrong number was likely accidentally pressed. Try again and it will likely work. If it still doesn't work, please message us so we can quickly check the lock.
Check-Out Procedure
- Leave used towels on the floors and leave used beds unmade.
- Place the TV remote back on the TV stand in the living room and log out of any streaming services that are yours.
- Do a final walkthrough to check for personal belongings.
- Close any windows, turn off lights, lock the back patio door, and lock the front door.
- Being that this is a pet-friendly home, pick up any pet remains in the yard so that future guests do not have to deal with them. Failure to do this will result in an $80 fee to have us do it for you.
House Rules
Being mindful of our house rules is appreciated and expected. We hope you love our space and will help us take care of it.
- No house parties
- Strict no smoking or vaping indoors policy. You may smoke or vape outside. Smoke remediation fees start at $1,000.
- Please clean up excessive messes; we'll take care of the rest.
Amenities & Features

- Parking: Free parking is available right in front of the cabin. You shouldn't have any issues finding a spot.
- Sleeping: The suite includes a queen size bed, a full size bed, and a twin size bed. There is also a pull-out chair in the loft that someone can use if they wish.
- Coffee: We have a Keurig-style coffee maker for you to use, which comes with a custom filter pod where you can add your preferred coffee flavor. We also provide generic creamer and sugar, but feel free to bring specific flavors if you prefer.
- TV: This property is equipped with a smart TV. Simply press one of the apps on the TV and log in to access streaming movies and TV shows.
- Outdoor Fire Pit: The gas fire pit is available for your use.
To turn on:
- Open the doors of the pit and turn on the propane tank by twisting the knob all the way to the left.
- On the fire pit, turn the dial to "low," hold it down, and press and hold the igniter button until you get a flame.
- Keep holding the dial down for a few seconds after it lights to ensure it stays lit. If the flame goes out, repeat the previous step.
- After holding for about 5 seconds, adjust the dial to your desired flame level.
To turn off:
- Turn the dial to "off."
- Turn off the propane tank.
Please let us know if propane gets low at any point so we can work on getting a replacement.
Hot Tub
Feel free to use the hot tub as much as you please during your stay. We have hot tub maintenance come by weekly to ensure the pH levels are correct. If you feel at any point like it may not be right, message us and we will see if we can get them out sooner to take a look.
The jets for the hot tub are controlled by a red button on the deck that is labeled.
Outdoor Stair Lights
There is a switch on one of the posts heading up the stairs that can be flipped to turn on the lights.
Pets
If you bring a pet with you, we ask that you try to keep them off furniture if they shed much, and to be careful with how much mud they track into the home. We appreciate this very much!
Services & Policies
Housekeeping
Since we are not a full hotel, just a small lodge, we unfortunately do not have the capacity to offer complimentary mid-stay housekeeping. However, you have the option to purchase mid-stay cleans from our housekeeping crew. Reach out to us directly if you want someone to come in and clean the room and wash linens and towels at any point.
Washing Machine & Dryer
We do not have a washing machine or dryer available for guests. For stays longer than 4 nights, feel free to request replacement towels and linens and we will do our best to accommodate.
Mary's Maytag laundromat is located in town at 159 Country Club Rd, Elkins, WV 26241 if you need to wash anything.
Mail & Packages
We understand the convenience of having deliveries, but we do not recommend having packages delivered to the property. We cannot guarantee the safe and timely delivery of packages, as we are unable to monitor the property at all times.
For a more secure option, we recommend utilizing the local post office for any deliveries using their general delivery option. They are equipped to receive and store packages until your convenient pickup. Please provide clear instructions to the delivery personnel if you choose this option.
Please be aware that packages or mail delivered outside your reservation dates likely will not reach you.
Items Left Behind
In the event that you leave personal items behind at the property, we are happy to assist in their retrieval and shipment to you. Please be advised that there will be a shipping cost and our time involved that will need to be paid before we can ship the items. We understand that accidents happen, and we are here to help make the process as smooth as possible.
