We are happy to welcome you to our home! Elkins is a great place to live or visit, and we are delighted to share it with you. Whether you are spending time with friends or family, or working away from home, we hope your stay is comfortable and enjoyable.

This manual is your full guestbook that includes check-in info, amenities, recommendations in the area and much more. Make sure to reference this if you have any questions, as this likely answers them for you.

We strive to offer a 5-star experience to our guests. If anything is not up to your standards, please let us know as soon as possible so we can address and fix the issues.

How to Access the Property

Check-in is available any time after 4 pm.

When arriving at 46 Faulkner Rd, you will see on Old Route 33 a campground to your left and a bridge in front of you. Turn right onto Faulkner Road before the bridge. You will see a gravel driveway with the cabin at the top. On the left side of the driveway is a post with the number 46—this confirms you're at the right place. Follow the gravel driveway up to the cabin and park in the driveway.

The front door has an electronic Schlage lock. Enter the door code we sent you and the door will open. Please note that the electronic lock locks automatically after 4 minutes.

Quiet Hours: Please ensure music is played at a reasonable level. Our quiet time is between 10 PM and 8 AM.

How to Use the Door Lock

The door lock is a Schlage Encode deadbolt—a wifi lock. You will not need keys or lockboxes during your stay.

To unlock the door:

• Press the home button on the bottom left of the screen to light up the keypad
• Type the code we provided
• The door will automatically unlock

If you see a red X when typing the code, a wrong number was likely pressed. Try again and it will usually work. If the problem persists, please message us so we can quickly check the lock.

Checkout Information

1. Leave used towels on the floors and leave used beds unmade
2. Place the TV remote back on the TV stand in the living room and log out of any streaming services that are yours
3. Do a final walkthrough to check for personal belongings
4. Close any windows, turn off lights, lock the back patio door, and lock the front door
5. Since this is a pet-friendly home, please pick up any pet waste in the yard so future guests do not have to deal with it. Failure to do this will result in an $80 fee for cleanup

House Rules

Being mindful of our house rules is appreciated and expected. We hope you love our space and will help us take care of it.

• No house parties
• Strict no smoking or vaping indoors policy. You may smoke or vape outside. Smoke remediation fees start at $1,000
• Please clean up excessive messes; we'll take care of the rest

Amenities

• Wifi: Network: MyOptimum 60d2f5 Password: 1910-beige-72
• Parking: Free parking is available on the driveway. You can also park across the road in the parking lot, though you'll have to walk up a small hill to reach the house.
• Sleeping: The cabin has 3 queen-size beds.
• Hot Tub: Feel free to use the hot tub as much as you please during your stay. We have hot tub maintenance come by weekly to ensure pH levels are correct. If you feel at any point like something may not be right, message us and we will see if we can get them out sooner to take a look.
• Coffee: We have a Keurig-style coffee maker for you to use, which comes with a custom filter pod that you can fill with your preferred coffee flavor. We also provide generic creamer and sugar, but feel free to bring specific flavors if you prefer.
• Garbage: We have a dumpster just across the road by the parking lot that you are welcome to use during your stay.
• TV: The property is equipped with smart TVs. Simply press one of the apps on the TV and log in for streaming movies and TV shows.
• Pets: If you bring a pet, please try to keep them off furniture if they shed much, and be careful with how much mud they track into the home. We appreciate this very much.
• Housekeeping: Since we are a small lodge rather than a full hotel, we do not have the capacity to offer complimentary mid-stay housekeeping. However, you have the option to purchase mid-stay cleans from our housekeeping crew. Reach out to us directly if you would like someone to come in and clean the room and wash linens and towels at any point.
• Clothes Washing: We do not have a washing machine or dryer available for guests. For stays longer than 4 nights, feel free to request replacement towels and linens and we will do our best to accommodate.

Mary's Maytag laundromat is located in town at 159 Country Club Rd, Elkins, WV 26241 if you need to wash anything.

Mail and Packages

We advise against having deliveries sent to the property due to the variable nature of delivery services. We cannot guarantee the safe and timely delivery of packages, as we are unable to monitor the property at all times.

For a more secure option, we recommend using the local post office for any deliveries with their general delivery option. They are equipped to receive and store packages until your convenient pickup. Please provide clear instructions to the delivery personnel if you choose this option.

Please be aware that packages or mail delivered outside your reservation dates likely will not reach you.

Items Left Behind

If you leave personal items behind at the property, we are happy to assist in their retrieval and shipment to you. Please be advised that there will be a shipping cost and our time involved that will need to be paid before we can ship the items. We understand that accidents happen, and we are here to help make the process as smooth as possible.
